The history of Lucas Elektrik goes back to 1960 when Mehmet Hilmi Sakallıoğlu, manufactured the “first dynamo” ın Türkiye. Following his success on manufacturing the ‘’first dynamo’’ in Türkiye, Mehmet Hilmi Sakallıoğlu attracted the attention of Nirun Şahingiray, the Turkish distributor of "Lucas" branded products at the time, resulting in the creation of ME-SA Elektro Dizel A.Ş. in 1978.
Lucas Industries PLC, the UK-based giant company, became a shareholder in ME-SA Elektro Dizel A.Ş. in 1982 and later on the company’s name was changed to Lucas Elektrik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. Cooperation between Lucas UK and its local partners had to come to the end in 1998 and resulted in the creation of the ‘’LucasElektrik’’ trademark.
In 1997, Lucas Elektrik A.Ş. was honored with the "OSD-Best Supplier of the Year" award, the most prestigious award in the Turkish Automotive Parts manufacturing industry, presented by the Automotive Industry Association of Turkey.
Lucas Elektrik A.Ş. has achieved the ability to develop its own alternators and starter motors in the 2000s as a result of R&D studies, drawing on the strength of its heritage and expertise.
Contrary to customary procedure, the company is able to design and manufacture a substantial portion of the sub-components in house, allowing it to respond to customer demands with customized solutions.
Granted KOSGEB’s "National Environment Award,’’ Lucas Elektrik places a great priority on ecologically responsible and high-quality production. Today, the company still continues to embrace greener practices.
With more than 1500 complete products in its product range, over 200 employees and 120 Authorized Service Points across the country, Lucas Elektrik offers consistent and reliable services to its customers in more than 40 countries across five continents.
